The Addictions Worker is responsible for the security for the Treatment Centre, the residents, and the facilities during all 'off treatment hours', nights and weekends. The Addictions Worker will ensure the care and welfare of the residents in the Centre by enforcing operation of house rules and regulations and by monitoring the maintenance and cleanliness of the Centre while on shift.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have two (2) years continuous sobriety/abstinence;
Basic knowledge of human behaviour, alcohol, drugs and solvents;
Excellent communication, interpersonal relation skills, and writing skills;
Must have a good understanding of alcohol and drug addiction, and the recovery process;
The skills to understand the use of authority in supervision, and to intervene effectively, in crisis situations;
Certification in St. Johns First Aid Course;
Hold a valid drivers license;
Cree, Michif, Dene or second language an asset;
Must be able to obtain Security Clearance
