Description

Reporting to the General Manager and a member of the Location Leadership Team, you will be accountable for leading a team of sales and consulting professionals towards achievement of individual and team goals by driving the successful sales performance of the farm service center by developing a comprehensive customer-based plan to generate grain and crop inputs revenue from a targeted group of retail customers.

65% Provide team leadership that ensures every salesperson understands that achieving sales plan targets is the key measure of success.

20% Ensure appropriate staffing, including selecting high performing individuals for the sales and consulting roles, and attracting and interviewing potential candidates, either from inside the company or externally.

5% Contribute to the development of relevant programs and offerings.

10% Ensures that the sales and consulting team are aware of and support achievement of the teams operational excellence and safety goals.

Required

Bachelors degree/diploma or equivalent relevant work experience
Understand the Canadian agricultural system at a high level including grain marketing, grain transportation, agronomy, & crop production
Good comprehension of Cargill's grain contracts and futures, options and basis programs
Strong people skills
Proven ability to apply sales process
Ability to effectively coach and develop a team of professional sales and consultant personnel
Knowledge of grain quality assurance & grading
Excellent organizational & communication skills
Ability to motivate people & focus efforts on achieving objectives
Team player with the ability to work with customers & other staff at the location & in the region
Legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada on a non-temporary basis

Preferred

Indepth knowledge of crop input products & services
Indepth knowledge of Agronomic & Grain Marketing Services
Understand how grain elevators work
