Health Canadas Hazardcheck is a public engagement
campaign to raise awareness among Canadian
homeowners of the health risks that exist in their
everyday lives and the simple actions they can
take to reduce the risks. The purpose of the
Hazardcheck guide is to educate Canadians about
the links between health and their living
environment, and to provide general advice on what
people can do to reduce their exposure to
environmental health risks that may be present in
their homes. The guide also provides information
on what parents can do to create healthy
surroundings for their children. The goal of the
Hazardcheck campaigns is to distribute the guides
and inform Canadians about indoor environmental
hazards like radon, mould, carbon monoxide and
lead.
Responsibilities:
Actively engage and educate customers on
indoor air quality and potential environmental
household hazards specifically, carbon monoxide
and radon
Inform customers of the tools available to
monitor levels of toxins in their home and direct
them to related products featured in store
Facilitate giveaway of Hazardcheck
educational materials and have customers fill out
a feedback card to enter prize draw
Communicate effectively with stores
management and staff prior to and during event
weeks to ensure all materials have been received
and are properly stored
Set-up and take down of event display
Track participation and complete daily
reports as required
Commit to and complete all shifts as
outlined above
Need to bring a heavy box or two of
material on each event day
