COMPETITION #13-02


Reporting to the Field Supervisor and the Customer Service Office (CSO) Manager in the Kindersley CSO, this position is responsible for the following:


Perform crop inspections on farms; Gather data necessary to determine indemnities for programs administered by Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation; Carry out fieldwork with customers who have suffered a financial loss or where problem situations exist; Measure bins and acreages accurately; Submit claims neatly, accurately and completely.


Grade 12, with a detailed knowledge of farming practices and crops.  Other qualifications include:


Ability to identify crop disease, insect damage and other causes of loss; Strong problem solving skills with the ability to exercise good judgment in situations that are not covered by policies and procedures; Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with unsatisfied customers in a professional manner; Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently; Strong mathematical skills with the ability to complete manual calculations; Knowledge of and experience with computers; Clear, legible handwriting; Good physical condition with the ability to walk long distances for field measurements and climb ladders and bins to measure grain.


Preference will be given to those applicants with knowledge of Crop Insurance and AgriStability programs, policies and procedures.


Valid driver's licence and a suitable vehicle to carry out responsibilities.

Required to work on short notice.

Required to work weekends when necessary.


The successful candidate will be subject to an acceptable criminal record check.
