Description

Reporting to the Director of Environmental Services, this out-of-
scope position is accountable for the application of safety
practices and standards to protect, promote, and maintain the
health and safety of the Finance & Operations staff.  The primary
duty of this position is to develop, administer and evaluate a
comprehensive safety program based on legislative and Regional
requirements.  The home base of this position within the Region
is flexible.  The successful candidate will be required to travel
within the Region and to flex workday hours to accommodate
program delivery.

The successful applicant must possess the following
qualifications:
Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) certification is preferred.
An equivalent combination of education and experience in OH&S
will be considered.
Experience within a healthcare facility, along with practical
expertise in this specialty area is preferred. Consideration will be
given to practical experience gained in other industries
Good knowledge of health & safety programs and legislation.
Exceptional written and oral communications skills, public
speaking and presentation skills. Exceptional organizational
skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and
maintain good working relationships with many types of people
including staff, unions and the general public.
Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel,
Outlook, PowerPoint and the Internet.

Salary and benefits are in accordance with Out-of-Scope
Management Compensation Plan.
