Reporting to the Manager of Energy Centres/Facilities Management, the Energy Centre Coordinator/2nd Class Chief Engineer will manage the departments resources, supervising staff in the operation repair and maintenance of the 2nd Class plant/energy centre system in accordance with the Boiler and Pressure Vessels Safety Act and Regulations. The Energy Centre Coordinator/2nd Class Chief Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day operation, maintenance, repair, renovation and construction services performed for the Pasqua Hospitals H.V.A.C. (Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning) systems and the Energy Center. The Energy Centre Coordinator/2nd Class Chief Engineer ensures that these systems are operated to provide maximum benefit/service to the patients, employees and the general public, while maintaining maximum energy efficiencies. As the Energy Centre Coordinator/2nd Class Chief Engineer, you will be accountable and responsible for ensuring the plant is operated and maintained in accordance with provincial acts and regulations.
Qualifications & Experience:
2nd Class Power Engineers Certificate
Five years experience (60 months) previous working experience as a 2nd Class Power Engineer to consolidate knowledge and skills
Broad knowledge of mechanical and electrical trades, energy centre, operation, preventative maintenance and energy management experience
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Demonstrated strong leadership experience in a unionized environment
Operating experience using current Building Automation Systems
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated financial management experience
Strong problem solving abilities
Intermediate computer skills
Strong working knowledge of H.V.A.C. Systems
Education, training and experience in the operation of (DDC) Direct Digital Control Systems
