Reporting to the Director of Health & Safety, this out-of-scope position is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of an effective regional safety management program to ensure compliance with Provincial OH&S legislation and the regional goal of zero workplace injuries. This position is located in North Battleford.
The successful applicant must possess the following qualifications:
Degree/Certification in Occupational Health & Safety. An equivalent combination of education and experience in OH&S will be considered.
A degree or diploma in a healthcare or education-related field is preferred.
Proven knowledge and experience within a healthcare facility.
The ability to develop, implement and facilitate required OH&S education based on current best-practice: Safety for Supervisors, Root Cause Analysis Training, WHMIS, PPE, Hazard Identification, OHC Training.
Demonstrated knowledge of the OH&S Acts and Regulations, Human Rights Code, Labour Standards Act, Collective Agreements and Saskatchewan Workers Compensation Act.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to apply principles of adult learning and teaching strategies.
A good working knowledge of applicable computer programs (i.e. Microsoft Office).
The position is full-time and requires travel within the Region and the ability to flex workday hours to accommodate program delivery.
Salary and benefits are in accordance with Out-of-Scope Management Compensation Plan.
