THE REGION:

Prairie North Health Region (PNHR) covers a large and geographically diverse area in the northwest part of central Saskatchewan. Economically, Prairie North is a vibrant and growing region with key industries such as agriculture, oil and gas, forestry, tourism and recreation. Region scope includes:

Over 3,162 staff members and over 100 physicians (general practitioners & specialists) plus visiting physician specialists.

THE POSITION:

As a member of the Regional Team, Director of Pharmacy Services is accountable for the provision of:

Pharmacy services in the Regions acute care sites and for Saskatchewan Hospital North Battleford.

The ongoing development, delivery and analysis of quality pharmacy services across the Region.

The provision of pharmacy services in an efficient, organized and financially responsible manner.

This position requires knowledge, experience, skill and demonstrated effectiveness in pharmacy management.

Key accountabilities of this position include:  planning and execution, financial management, policy formulation, intra- and inter-regional coordination, ensuring regulatory/legislative compliance, establishing collaborative partnerships and building teams.

Qualifications and key success factors:

Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy with a minimum of 5 years experience in hospital pharmacy.

Licensed with the Saskatchewan Pharmaceutical Association.

Completion of an accredited hospital pharmacy residency program is an asset.

Minimum of two years experience as a manager would be an asset.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to manage change, resolve conflict, work in a team and lead teams.

Ability to provide leadership to all levels in a complex environment.
