Description

The Gabriel Dumont Institute Training & Employment Inc. invites applications for the filling of the following two (2) positions:

Apprenticeship Recruiter
Competition Code # 1303 201S Jan 30

Responsibilities:    Reporting to the Program Coordinator, the Administrative Coordinator will be responsible for the effective administrative functions and the coordination of the daily, recurrent and ongoing Apprenticeship program activities of GDIT&E in Saskatchewan; travel within Saskatchewan to meet with employers and clients to develop partnerships; and all other duties as assigned by the Program Coordinator and the Institute.

Qualifications:     The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Business Administration, Office Administration or Administrative Assistant or at minimum two years post-secondary education or equivalent experience. Previous experience with Apprenticeships or Journey person status in a trade is a distinct asset. Previous experience in recruitment, HR practices and/or Job Coaching would be an asset. The successful candidate must be very organized and able to prioritize tasks; must be friendly, personable and able to build harmonious working relationships with internal and external stakeholders; must have an understanding of the barriers to employment that Aboriginals face in the labor market. The successful candidate must have the ability to work with little supervision, be able to communicate easily and effectively with diverse groups. The successful candidate must have a valid Saskatchewan drivers license and reliable vehicle. Knowledge of or experience in Aboriginal communities and organizations is essential.
