Description

We require an experienced equipment assembler to lead a team of assembly personnel in our busy shop to ensure our high quality products are manufactured according to schedule.

Reporting to Plant Manager, the Assembly Supervisor will co-ordinate the activities of workers engaged in assembling parts or assemblies into units, such as Street Sweepers, Pothole Patchers, Land Rollers and Field Harrows. The Supervisor will apply his or her knowledge of the assembly process, tools, equipment, products, and production methods to the products manufactured by the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team of assembly technicians in assembling completed units
Compile reports concerning progress of work and  to advise management of any production time deviations or delays
Work with other departments to ensure that the production process and product design is optimized for the assembly department.
Work with Quality Control department to ensure all products are manufactured within specifications.
Ensure that workers in assembly department are following safe work guidelines, and procedures.
Confer with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from engineering departments.

The successful applicant will have:
Strong communication skills
Exceptional leadership abilities    
High mechanical aptitude        
Three or more years of experience in manufacturing production of heavy construction equipment
Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems
The ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures and communicate them to the team
Supervisory experience
Excellent problem solving skills
