The Regina Open Door Society Inc., an immigrant and refugee services agency, is seeking a qualified individual to staff the position of Casual Early Childhood Educator. Staff of RODS must at all times operate within the mandate of service to immigrants and refugees settling in Regina, with the long term goal of early adjustment and participation in Canadian society. As part of a broad, integrated settlement unit, staff must perform all duties with tact and diplomacy, constantly maintaining the confidentiality of clients and of RODS. Staff will at all times work together cooperatively ensuring that the goal of effective service to clients is the priority.
The Casual Early Childhood Educator is accountable directly to the Child Care Manager.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Early Childhood Education Certification Level 1 or higher
Critical thinking skills
Decision Making skills
Good oral and written communication skills
Valid First Aid and CPR B or C
Police Record Check
Child Abuse Registry Check
Cross Cultural Training/Awareness
Ability to work in a team setting
Documented TB test results
Able to plan developmentally appropriate activities based on each childs needs and interests
Ability to be flexible
This position is to commence as soon as possible. Hours of work for this position vary Monday- Friday between the hours of 7:30am and 5:00pm and no set hours are guaranteed. The hourly starting salary for this position is dependent on ECE certification level.
