Description

Stepping Stones Emergency Receiving Home requires a Full Time Evening Staff. Evening shifts are 8 hour shifts starting at 10:00 pm, 11:00pm or Midnight, ending at 6:00, 7:00 or 8:00 am .
This is an awake shifts with 1-2 other staff working with 8 children. Duties include but are not limiting to supervising and interacting with children at meal times ( breakfast), supervising and interacting with children during play time, planning developmentaly appropriate activites for the children, preparing children for bed time, comforting children who wake in the night, intake of new children in the night etc,,

While children are asleep the  staff are responsible for meal prep, cleaning, completing paperwork and documentation as required.

This postion DOES require shift work, which includes weekday and weekend overnight shifts, AND also includes working on Statutory holidays.

$ 1.00 per hour wage premium for hours worked after 6:00 pm and on weekends.

Generous group benifts after 6 mos, including medical, dental, short and long term disability, matching RRSP's.

Candidates must possess a current First Aid/CPR certificate.

Must pass a criminal record check and a medical (with TB test).


Only those with a minimum of ONE years relevant post secondary education will be considered.

Rate of pay is $15.78 per hour for those with an Early Childhood Education, Teacher Assistant, or Youth Care Worker CERTIFICATE. LPN's or those with a minimum of 90 hours towards a Social Work Degree will also be paid $15.78 to start.

Those with an Early Childhood Education or Youth Care Worker DIPLOMA or RN's or those with a Social work degree will be paid $17.75 to start.

Those with recent relevant work experience may be started futher up on the payscale ( approx $1.00 per hour more).
