As a Canadian Forces Reservist, you will work part-time from September to May, with an average of four to six days of work per month. Over the summer months you will have the opportunity to have full-time employment, either attending military courses or instructing on them. Career advancement courses wil be taken over the summer months, with select courses being offered on weekends throughout the year. Your first course will consist of Military Basic Training (Boot Camp), where you'll learn everything from how to march, to how to shoot a rifle, and is common to all occupations. Future training will be specific to your chosen occupation.

No experience is necessary, as you will be trained and gain all the skills required for each occupation. Other trades available in your area include: Mobile Support Equipment Operator, Communications System Specialist, Combat Engineer and Engineer Officer, Infantry Soldier, Signals Officer and Supply Technician.
