The Ministry of the Economy is seeking a self-motivated and confident engineer to join the Petroleum and Natural Gas Division in the Engineering Services Branch in Regina. Reporting to a Senior Engineer, you will perform advanced petroleum engineering functions with respect to the exploration, development, production, and transportation of crude oil and natural gas, including the review of horizontal oil well projects and waterflood projects. You will evaluate reservoirs for the determination of remaining oil and gas reserves in the province and conduct engineering evaluations of proposals submitted by the petroleum industry to ensure regulatory requirements related to the management, conservation and transportation of oil and gas resources are met.
To qualify for this position, you will require a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, preferably in the petroleum, geological or environmental disciplines, and be registered (or provide proof of eligibility for registration) in the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan. You will have a sound knowledge of and direct experience in petroleum engineering as well as standards and legislation governing the oil and gas industry.
