Description
Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) protects consumer interests and supports economic wellbeing through responsive marketplace regulation. FCAA is the regulator and quasi-judicial adjudicator with respect to financial services in Saskatchewan, including the credit union system, insurance, pensions, securities, trust and loans, payday loans and mortgage brokers. FCAA also supports fair trading in goods or services purchased by a consumer for personal, household or family purposes through a variety of consumer protection statutes.
As the successful candidate, you will provide leadership and expertise in the initiation, planning, development, execution and evaluation of programs for consumer education and stakeholder information. You will direct the design and distribution of a wide range of teaching tools and educational resources for the general public with the objective that Saskatchewan consumers would identify and avoid financial scams and seek information about financial products to make informed decisions. You will work closely with Authority staff to deliver key messages to the financial services industry, the public and the government on regulatory actions and policies and the operations of the Commission. The incumbent's role will also include writing speeches, publications, articles, newsletters and correspondence.
A strategic thinker and experienced communicator, you will be highly motivated, creative and a dynamic goal-oriented person with excellent writing and public presentation skills. Knowledge of media, both paid and earned, as well as an understanding of social media would be definite assets.
