The Ministry of Justice is seeking a creative, innovative and flexible candidate to fill the role of Teacher Therapist at the North Battleford Youth Centre. Reporting to the Supervising Teacher Therapist, the successful candidate will provide an education program to youth in custody ages 12 - 18 being held under the provisions of The Youth Criminal Justice Act.
As a positive role model, you will provide educational assessment, programming, planning and instruction for youth within the facility classroom setting. You will be responsible for the delivery of curriculum based programming to a multi-grade classroom.
To qualify for this position, you must have knowledge of the Saskatchewan school system Core Curriculum and Common Essential Learnings; educational methods including behaviour management techniques for adolescents, classroom management, instruction techniques assessment and curriculum; and multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives.
You will also be required to posses a Bachelor of Education with preference to experience in a custody/community interfaced program; a Professional "A" Teaching Certificate; valid Driver's License; and proof of current First Aid/CPR Certificate.
