Description
The Ministry of Justice requires a client service oriented Facility Youth Worker for the North Battleford Youth Centre. The North Battleford Youth Centre provides secure custody, and remand for males 12 to 18 under the Youth Criminal Justice Act as well as other federal and provincial acts. Reporting to the program supervisors, the Facility Youth Worker will work as part of a team in providing a dynamic program including safety, security and supervision. Staff are required to provide positive leadership and direction, assessment, counseling, case management services and custodial supervision to youth in custody.
We are seeking candidates who will demonstrate a commitment to the Ministry's strategic plan. The successful candidate will have knowledge of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, social work principles and practices, methodologies of assessing and providing case management to adolescents and adolescent development and the impact of influencing factors. In addition the successful candidate will have the ability to recognize potential risks to safety and the well being of self, clients, staff and community. The successful candidate will be a positive role model for youth and have values that include integrity, respect and service excellence. This position requires expert knowledge to develop, edit, and maintain excell spead sheets for scheduling puposes.
This position requires proof of First Aid and CPR certification, and a current Drivers license to transport youth. This position works shift hours.
