Description

Reporting to the Park Area Manager as the senior onsite supervisor, you will be responsible for all aspects of the day-to day operation of the park.  As the successful candidate, you will, with the assistance of the Park Area Manager, conduct staffing for non-permanent as well as labour service employees, providing training and career counseling, as well as manage the probationary appraisal process.  You will implement annual park operation, fire management and maintenance plans, deliver park programs and capital upgrades within assigned budget limits and provide timely, accurate information on expenditures and revenues.  As well, you will be required to monitor commercial, cottage and institutional camp lessees and service contractors' performance to ensure compliance with lease agreements, contracts and public safety requirements and negotiate resolution of deficiencies.



Our candidate of choice will have extensive knowledge of various acts and regulations pertaining to drinking water treatment, OH&S, WHMIS, commercial pesticide applications, wastewater and public health. Your ability to collaborate and work in a team environment is critical.  You will possess superior problem solving skills to analyze and evaluate information and to determine alternative courses of action.  Your excellent written and oral communication will enable you to effectively influence, convince or persuade others in order to negotiate agreeable solutions and/or understanding of issues.



The knowledge and skills required for this position will be obtained through formal education in:  Integrated Resource Management, Park and Recreation Management, Tourism Management, Environmental Sciences or an equivalent combination of education and extensive, related experience.
