Therefore, the successful candidate will be an understanding, respectful and sensitive individual, eager to contribute to the challenges of working in the Pine Grove Correctional Centre.
As our candidate of choice, you will work with a team of professionals, to provide direct client care and treatment, maintain patient records, actively promote preventative health measures, respond to medical/psychiatric emergencies with appropriate interventions, and assess medical and mental conditions and make referrals as needed for female clients.
To qualify for this position you will be actively registered with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of Saskatchewan (RPN), or the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (RN). You will be required to have knowledge of medical and psychiatric theories and related intervention strategies; drug/alcohol withdrawal indicators and effects; communicable diseases in a correctional population; public heath issues and risk factors, and, knowledge of multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives. The successful candidate will work day, evening and weekend shifts.
