Description

Advanced Education is seeking a highly skilled and energetic Director to work with Saskatchewan?s post-secondary education sector to plan, manage and coordinate the sector?s capital infrastructure investments.  The vibrant and dynamic post-secondary education sector serves a critical role by addressing the education needs of the province?s learners and the labour market needs of our growing economy.

In this position, you will build strong working relationships with the post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan to effectively plan and manage post-secondary capital infrastructure. You will work closely with these institutions to develop strategies and policies to ensure post-secondary capital infrastructure will support the development of an educated, skilled and productive workforce that meets the labour demands of a growing and innovative economy.  You will develop evaluation frameworks to prioritize the capital needs of the sector in order to ensure that limited resources are deployed in a strategic manner.

Our candidate of choice will have an understanding of the construction industry and related processes, including capital project management, budgeting and the tendering process.  You will have significant experience in stakeholder relations and familiarity developing and managing capital management and funding strategies.  In addition, you will have the demonstrated the ability to think strategically and manage change effectively.  Strong leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills coupled with a deep understanding of capital planning and infrastructure management.

Typically, knowledge for this position would be obtained through a graduate degree in a social science, business administration or a related discipline, engineering or architecture as well as related experience in management roles.
