Description
This position will be responsible for the preparation of legal documents and correspondence from dictation and written instructions and clerical support.
The successful applicant will be a graduate of a recognized Legal Assistant or Legal Secretarial program with minimum 7 to 10 years of recent Paralegal experience. Our ideal candidate will be highly organized, have superior computer skills, proofreading and grammatical skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work both independently and within a fast-paced, professional team environment.
Additional Responsibilities include:
perform legal and factual research organize and analyze information
cross-check and validate information
prepare written reports
draft legal documents including briefs, appeals, wills, contracts and legal agreements
help prepare legal arguments, applications, declarations and motions
prepare correspondence
check legal forms and documents for accuracy
maintain reference files
co-ordinate law office activities
interact with clients
assist the lawyer in the courtroom
