Description
As a System Operator you are responsible for monitoring and controlling the functionality of the Balancing and Transmission Operations workstations, ensuring the optimum level of system reliability of the Bulk Electric System.
Major responsibilities include coordinating system restoration activities during system blackouts; maintaining optimum level of security and economy for the power grid; and reviewing, monitoring and updating daily and weekly system load forecasts.
Minimum requirement of Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology Diploma or Second Class Power Engineering Certificate or Interprovincial Journeyperson Power Electrician or Interprovincial Power Line Technician Certificate or Electrical Engineer. A fully qualified applicant would be RC NERC certified with a System Operator certificate from an accredited organization and would possess a full Grade 12 with English A30 & B30, Math B30 & C30 and Physics 30 with one of the above mentioned requirements.
This position falls within the scope of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 2067.
