We are in the early stages of new product
development. The bulk of the work will be
programming the main application in C, Python and
PHP using GNOME, GObject and Gstreamer frameworks.
There will however be many other tasks such as:
- System architecture and network design.
- Building/Installing/Configuring the QA systems
such as continuous build.
- Building/Installing/Configuring binary package
distribution (for example koji used by Fedora).
- Putting in place a complete public key
infrastructure
4-7 years experience in the following areas are
required:
- Linux System Administration & Automation
- Desktop (C/C++ or Python) OR Web Based
- Application Development (PHP or Python)
Additional experience any of the following is
beneficial:
Software release management
- Infrastructure
- Automated Testing systems
- Revision control Git in particular
Networking & Design Principals
- VPN & SSL
- PKI design/setup
- Gstreamer or Video processing
- GNOME / Gobject frameworks
A cover letter describing previous experience in
the required skill areas, examples of open source
contributions whether code, documentation, bug
reporting or support is required. Specific
examples of off the beaten path projects or other
demonstrations of the combination of curiosity and
personal drive are definitely encouraged.
Notes:
- The employment contract is flexible - time based
contract or full time salaried.
- Salary will be subject to increase after the
probationary time of 3 months.
