Description

MACSI is an affiliate of the Metis Nation - Saskatchewan and is a non-profit corporation providing alcohol and drug recovery services and counselling programs to Saskatchewan residents.

The Counsellor is responsible for delivering the treatment program activities and counselling clients in the Treatment Centre.  As well, the Counsellor will assist the Regional Director in program development, planning and evaluation.  The Counsellor is directly accountable to the Regional Director.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Counselling, Chemical Dependency (SIAST) Diploma, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in addictions, social or health treatment services;

Must have two (2) years continuous sobriety/abstinence;

Basic knowledge of counselling theory, human behaviour, alcohol, drugs and solvents;

Experience in treatment program planning, client therapy counselling, in-service training, community referral liaison systems;

Experience in one or more of the following is an asset: recreation, culture, nutrition, youth, life skills and / or community development;

Certification in St. Johns First Aid Course;

Must possess a valid drivers license, and;

Must provide a current CPIC Security Clearance.

Excellent communication, interpersonal relation skills, writing skills & computer skills
