This position is hereby posted in accordance with Article 9 of the Collective Agreement between Saskatchewan Government Employees Union and Rainbow Youth Centre.
Description: Working as part of a team, under the supervision of the Youth Skills Program Coordinator and in keeping with the policies, practices and philosophy of Rainbow Youth Centre, this position is responsible for co-facilitating and delivering programs for youth.
Qualifications: Candidate should have:
2 to 3 years combined education/experience relevant to the position.
At least (1) year experience facilitating groups and an understanding of group dynamics and development.
Experience working with at risk populations preferably aged 11 to 19 years.
Understanding of anger and conflict resolution.
Understanding of conflicts that young people experience.
Understanding of substance abuse and the effects of problematic use.
Knowledge of community resources relevant to the needs of youth.
Understanding of program development.
Knowledge of program planning and implementation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Able to work flexible hours and transport youth.
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License.
Ability to work as a team player as well as being capable of carrying out assigned tasks independently.
Hours of work: 30 hours per week (with every friday off).
Monday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday 12:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Wednesday 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Thursday 1:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.,
Wage: As per collective agreement $15.13 per hour to start plus a complete benefits package.
