ENVIRONMENT OFFICER
McArthur River Operation, SK
POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working within McArthur Rivers environment department, you
will provide oversight and support for the environmental
monitoring program. You will supervise the daily activities of the
environment technicians by providing guidance, training and
priority setting of their daily duties, as well as developing and
delivering technical training to environment technicians and site
employees as required.
You will prepare and review reports prior to their submission;
both internally and to regulatory agencies. You will also liaise
with regulators and site departments with respect to
environmental issues, concerns and compliance.
In addition to the above, you will oversee wildlife management
activities, provide guidance on waste management activities, and
ensure that environment department resources are adequately
maintained.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Diploma in environmental science, resource management, or
related discipline
Five to eight years of relevant work experience, including field
work, technical report writing and program development
Previous supervisory experience
Equivalent combination of education and work experience
considered
Working knowledge of ISO 14001 or similar environment
management system (EMS) development and implementation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
