Description

Make a difference everyday with the City of Estevan a vibrant and growing community in Southeast Saskatchewan, with excellent educational, medical and recreational facilities.  We have a strong business / industrial sector and are located only 10 minutes north of the U.S. border.

Duties:
1. Supervises and co-ordinates the operation, maintenance and repair of facility systems and buildings including:  Boiler, Refrigeration, HVAC, Swimming Pool, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Caretaking
2. Ensures plumbing, building renovations and other building changes are completed.
3. Supervises the operation, maintenance and caretaking staff of the Civic Auditorium, Souris Valley Leisure Centre and Curling Rink.
4. Ensures optimal crew size, proper machinery and equipment assigned and materials available for repairs, maintenance and capital work.
5. Researches and purchases specialized products.
6. Completes employee schedules and approves time sheets.
7. Investigates and responds to complaints.
8. Ensures the recording of labour, equipment, materials and other pertinent data.
9. Instructs or trains employees in maintenance, repairs, construction, safety, and operation of equipment and tools.
10. Monitors and controls expenditures.  Develops budgets.
11. Develops policies and procedures.
12.  Researches, prepares and submits reports on any matter.
13. Participates in the appointment, hiring, suspension, dismissal, appraisals, promotions, demotions, transfer or dismissal of staff.
14. Ensures the maintenance of tools and equipment.
15. Receives after hour calls and arranges for corrective action.
16. Promote and maintain positive public relations between staff and customers.

EDUCATION:
- Grade 12
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- WHIMIS Training
- Arena Operator's Certificate - Level 1 & 2
- Pool Operators Certificate - Level 1 & 2
- 5TH Class Engineer's Certificate
- Computer Skills
- Formal Supervisory / Leadership Training
- Custodial Care Certificate
