Saskatchewan Agriculture's Communications Branch requires a highly skilled and motivated communications professional to develop, implement and evaluate communications and media strategies on a broad range of ministry initiatives and issues.
You will be responsible for monitoring issues and trends in the media and for providing strategic advice to senior officials; researching and writing a wide range of communications materials such as news releases, speeches and website content; and organizing events and news conferences.
You will have demonstrated knowledge of communication principles and practices; strategic communications planning and issues management; and media relations and media event planning. Typically, this knowledge will be obtained through a degree in Journalism or Communications with related work experience.
You will be a consultative team player with good interpersonal skills who can also function with initiative and independence; and who is proactive, organized and flexible in order to respond quickly and positively in a demanding work environment.
