Senior Communications Consultant (Media Relations Specialty) - Term Position
The Communications and Public Education team at the Saskatchewan Ministry of Justice and Attorney General and the Saskatchewan Ministry of Corrections and Public Safety is seeking a highly motivated, creative, dynamic communicator. Reporting to the Directors of Communications for both Ministries, the successful candidate will work with professional staff from across the Ministries, justice system partners and community-based stakeholder groups to maintain and build public awareness and support of justice, corrections and public safety policies, programs and services. The incumbent's most significant role will be to administer the Ministries' media relations programs, including responding to media inquiries, preparing the Minister and other officials to respond to media, co-ordinating news conferences, writing news releases, and monitoring media stories and reports.
Typically, these skills and knowledge will have been gained through a post-secondary degree in a discipline such as journalism or communications, and/or through experience in the communications field.
