Description

The City of Moose Jaw is seeking to fill a Sanitation Truck Driver - Environmental Services position in the Public Works Branch in the Operation Department.

The position will perform the following duties:
-Maintain and operate a City-owned vehicle equipped for the handling of garbage collection.
-Utilize all personal protective equipment provided and perform the duties in a safe manner.
-Supervise, when required, one to two labourers engaged in the loading of the truck; issue tickets for extra refuse, trade waste, etc.
-Tag, record and report to the supervisor all garbage and containers which are not in compliance with the Solid Waste Bylaw.
-Perform required running maintenance of the truck; ensure proper care of the truck and handle and operate in a safe and efficient manner.
-Report all minor and major repairs.
-Work on Saturdays as required.
-Other related duties as assigned or required.

The ideal candidate will have:
-Class 3A drivers license.
-Physical ability to perform heavy manual labour.
-Ability to direct and supervise other employees.
-Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with supervisors, other employees.
-Work courteously and tactfully with the general public.
