Legal Assistant

KMP Law is a medium sized, full service law firm conveniently located in downtown Regina.  Our broad and diverse range of clientele have come to rely on KMP Law as a firm with knowledgeable, confident, highly skilled lawyers who know and understand them and their needs.
KMP Law is looking for a Legal Assistant to join our team.  The Legal Assistant will be responsible for a wide variety of legal and administrative duties within the law practice. This includes the preparation of legal documents and correspondence, responding to inquiries and interacting with clients, court representatives, service providers, other law firms, etc. This position requires high attention to detail, organization and effective communication skills.
  
Job Duties
    Complete tasks provided in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
    Prepare legal documents using dictation, written instruction, and verbal direction.
    Draft correspondence for lawyers.
    Proofread and edit documentation for grammar, spelling, and content accuracy.
    Interact with clients and schedule appointments.
    Interact with court staff, sheriffs office, registries, service providers, etc.
    Maintain lawyer diary and task system.
    Open, close, and bill client files.
    Update and organize pleadings binders.
    File correspondence and documents in their corresponding client file.
    Maintain a professional image and demeanor with all employees, management, lawyers and visitors at all times.
    Other duties, relevant to the position, will be assigned as required.

Requirements
    Secondary education preferred.
    Proficient use of various office based software including Microsoft Office.
