Description

RIWC is looking for a dedicated Newcomer Information Officer to support newcomers to Regina. This role is ideal for individuals eager to work in a community-based environment, assisting newcomers through information dissemination, program promotion, and needs assessments. The position provides an opportunity to grow, develop partnerships, and make a meaningful impact in the community.

DUTIES
Promote programs and services for newcomers in Regina and surrounding areas
Maintain a current list of community services and settlement resources
Provide information on settlement services, language training, and resources
Conduct needs assessments with clients and refer them to appropriate services
Organize and deliver group information sessions and orientations.
Input and maintain client data in a database.
Update program materials and community resource information, working with the Settlement Coordinator
Assist with report preparation related to services and programs
Collaborate with community partners and other team members
Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in adult education, social services, or related field preferred
Experience with diverse communities or newcomers is an asset but not required
Fluency in a language other than English is an asset
Ability to learn quickly and work well with others
Flexibility and adaptability to community needs
Passion for supporting newcomers and learning about settlement services
Knowledge of available services and challenges newcomers face (training provided)
Comfort working with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new tools
Availability to work evenings and weekends, as required
Valid Class 5 drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
