Job Description:
T he Plastic Surgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice nurse with knowledge and skills gained through additional education and experience. The NP blends an in-depth knowledge of nursing to order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, provide education, and perform specific procedures. The NP is prepared with the necessary competencies to assess and treat patients with varying care needs, ranging from common to complex patients with medical co-morbidities. Using advanced skills, the plastic surgery NP will facilitate the coordination and provision of care to provide seamless transitions throughout the health system. The NP practices within a framework of evidence-based acute care, holism, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention. The NP collaborates with interdisciplinary team members and liaises with health professionals and agencies throughout the organization to facilitate high quality care for the patient and families.

- Five (5) full time years of experience as a Registered Nurse
Education
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
Licenses
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
Other Education and Training
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certificate (ACLS)
- CNA certificate in clinical practice area is an asset
- Current CPR Level C
