RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for completing the following:
1) Verifying department gross margin calculations.
2) Processing all data each period required to ensure accurate financial statements.
3) Preparing taxes and insurance.
4) Updating fixed asset and depreciation sub-ledgers.
5) Reconciling General Ledger Accounts.
6) Co-ordinating other functions such as internal control functions, P.O.S. Systems, computerization, advertising control and Statistics Canada correspondence.
7) Supervisory duties.
8) Other accounting and office related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Business Accountancy Diploma or Degree required. Past Accounting experience required. Must be proficient in computer software applications including Excel. Must be able to assume responsibility and complete tasks without direct supervision and exercise discretion and judgement in order to make decisions within the scope of assigned duties. Incumbent must possess strong oral and written communication skills and co-operation skills developed in a team setting.
