Job Description: The Public Health Nutritionist assesses needs, plans, organizes, implements, manages, directs and evaluates public health nutrition programs, projects and services for the general populations, select target groups, health and other professions, community groups/agencies and individuals. The Public Health Nutritionist applies the art and science of population health promotion principles to develop sustainable and equitable improvements in the food and nutrition systems in the community. The Public Health Nutritionist provides a leadership role in initiating and developing collaborations and partnerships with a variety of intersectoral organizations, community groups/agencies and individuals. Collaborations are necessary as public health nutrition involves collective ownership throughout the entire needs assessment, planning, implementing and evaluation cycle.
