Job Summary: The Social Worker provides support for Grade 9-12 students in all aspects of self that align with Indigenous Ways of being. This will include; individual and group counselling and facilitation, expertise in the field to support social and justice navigation, preventative and intermediation strategies and spiritual supports. The Social Worker will be responsible to establish guiding practices of oskayak ka-sitoskahcik ikakitakipahocik and working with parents, caregivers, school personnel and outside agencies to support students in all aspects of life to promote miyo-pimtisiwin.
- Responsible to work as a member of an educational team to provide counselling and support services for students and families in the school setting
- Liaise and establish relations with other agencies and community organizations
- Work with all members of the school team and report to school administration
- Provide mentorship, guidance and support to assigned youth and serve as a positive role model in the school community for all
- Other duties as assigned by designated superintendent (and/or school administrator)
