The Radiation Therapist I is responsible for preparing, planning and delivering accurate and precise ionizing radiation treatments to cancer patients according to the prescription of a Radiation Oncologist. The Radiation Therapist I reports to the Provincial Leader or Site Manager of Radiation Therapy with daily work functions supervised by a Radiation Therapist II.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree/Diploma in Radiation Therapy
Certification for Basic Life Saver (BLS)-C
Licensed with Saskatchewan Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (SAMRT)
Membership with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
* Ability to interpret detailed information and communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Ability to perform a range of Radiation Therapy methods and processes including treatment planning, simulation and treatment
* Accuracy of fine motor movements required for operating treatment unit controls, tattooing patients, and data entry
* Human relations skills are required to develop formal relationships of a therapeutic nature to assist others in achieving their short or long term goals
* Maintain confidentiality
* Moderate Judgment and problem solving skills are required to select the most appropriate action from a variety of alternatives
* Proficiency with a variety of computer systems and software applications
