Description

This position is based in North Battleford and reports to the Provincial Lab Manager.  Primary Purpose: To support the simulated learning experiences for the USask Nursing students in the clinical skills lab. Nature of Work: You will work to support lab activities within the clinical skills lab by using standard healthcare procedures as well as running of the lab on a day-to-day basis. This includes pre-lab preparation, setup, support, and cleanup with minimal or no supervision as well as the routine maintenance of the simulation models and adequate inventory levels. Typical Duties:  Work with lab instructors by providing course support, equipment and supply management, facility management and customer service. Typical duties include:  coordinating lab courses to run efficiently including pre-lab preparations, setups, support during lab and cleanup after lab are completed. Ensure all equipment (manikins, task trainers) are running prior to lab. Education: Nursing education with preference given to previous registration as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Continuing Care Aide.
Experience: Two years of health care experience is required.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, effective organizational and time management skills; ability to multi-task while paying attention to detail; ability to work independently and as part of a team; demonstrate tact and diplomacy; proven ability to work on multiple projects with competing demands to meet deadlines; demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite; strong initiative and willingness to learn. The ability to respectfully interact and create positive relations with diverse faculty, staff, and students with a focus on tact, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
