Reporting directly to the Housing Programs Manager. The Nurse will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of individual client care and for the overall provision of client care in a 24-hour 7-day week supported living environment. The Nurse will work alongside an interdisciplinary team to provide care that supports the mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well being of clients in the program. The Nurse must be knowledgeable in harm reduction best practices. Understanding that harm reduction is an evidence-based, client-centered approach that seeks to reduce the health and social harms associated with addiction and substance use, without necessarily requiring people who use substances from abstaining or stopping.
Job Duties:
Provide client care to vulnerable persons.
Monitor patients condition and assess their needs to provide the best possible care and advice.
Observe and interpret patients symptoms and communicate them to physicians.
Collaborate with other staff and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients.
Perform routine procedures (blood pressure measurements, administering injections etc.) and keep patients charts.
Adjust and administer patients medication and provide treatments according to physicians orders.
Inspect the facilities and act to maintain excellent hygiene and safety.
