Description

Reporting to the Director of Energy Transition, this position works with a high level of independence and as part of a team advising on long-term energy planning, capturing economic opportunities, advancing systems design, and analyzing energy solutions. This position offers an opportunity for meaningful and challenging work in an encouraging and dynamic environment that promotes trust, excellence, leadership, and teamwork.

This position will:
Conduct complex, strategic, public policy, and economic analysis for the CIC Board and Cabinet on a wide range of Crown energy and economic growth initiatives.
Provide expert advice on energy policy options, technological applications and costs, economic forecasting and analysis, supply chain and trade opportunities and relationships, and structural governance, considering alignment with government priorities, industry and business comparisons, international standards, and policy requirements.
Conduct on-going research into energy policy and governance options, strategic approaches to economic and intergovernmental opportunities, trends, issues, and developments in Saskatchewan, Canada, and internationally.
Work closely with Crown corporations, government ministries, the private sector, other governments, and other interested parties to coordinate and facilitate strategic collaboration, stay current with technological, economic and policy pressures and ideas, to provide CIC with timely, concise, independent, and accurate advice.
Develop a variety of written materials including strategic planning documents, policy options, analytical advice, decision and information items, speaking notes, briefing notes, and letters.
Represent CIC at meetings, conferences, trade and industrial events, gathering of delegates, and in regular dialogue with Crown corporations, ministries, business interests and other stakeholders.
