Description

Pro Metal Industries is one of the only First Nations wholly owned manufacturing enterprises in Canada, and one of only a few First Nations 100% owned military suppliers. Pro Metal offers, plasma, laser and waterjet cutting, CWB and AWS Welding, CNC machining and Powder Coating.

Reporting to the Financial Controller of Pro Metal Industries, you will interact daily with Pro Metals suppliers, and you will be responsible for procurement of various goods and services required for the manufacturing of Pro Metal products within established standards following corporate purchasing policies.  The purchaser works on getting the right product, at the right time, at the right place, for the right price. Pro Metal has a very strong and loyal customer base and is growing every day.  
Review pending purchase orders and place orders where required. Generate open/backorder reports and follow up with vendors regarding expected time of arrival. Receive purchase orders into the ERP system. Work to develop new supplier relationships/create Net 30 accounts. Ensure supplier contact details/profile are up to date. Ensure coding on purchase order items follows accounting protocols. Lead quarterly inventory counts and ensure it balances with accounting general ledger. Setup cycle counts and coordinate removal of obsolete inventory according to policy.
Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management. Purchasing designation preferred.
Previous experience in the metal fabrication industry.
Solid negotiation skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Canadian Citizenship or Permanent residency.
Pass a security assessment and provide a criminal record check and fingerprints due to Pro Metals military Controlled Goods designation.
