We are looking for reliable and self-motivated apprentice welders. To be successful in this role you must be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team. If you are self-motivated, take ownership of your role, and love to learn, this is a position is for you.
Wage is based on experience.
Responsibilities
Welding out fitted steel components
Handling materials on-site, within the shop, and outdoors as required
Use of overhead cranes and jib cranes
Use of basic hand tools and power hand tools (i.e. grinders, levels, die grinder, wrench)
Cutting and grinding of various metals
Assisting welders and fabricators with tasks
Basic housekeeping duties (clean site and equipment)
Safe work practices
The Ideal Candidate
Possess valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle to get to and from work
Organizational abilities
Experience with mig welding required
Prior experience with overhead cranes and rigging an asset
Prior experience operating forklift an asset
Willing to work in an industrial environment
Experience with tasks involving physical labour, the use of tools, and heavy lifting
Be safety conscious, reliable, motivated, and willingness to learn
