Description

Use blueprints, drawings, and sketches to identify specifications and calculate material requirements.
Prepare layouts following building codes, ensuring precision with measuring tools.
Assemble, cut, shape, and join materials such as wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
Construct foundations, install floor beams, build walls and roof systems, and lay subflooring.
Fit and install trim components like doors, stairs, molding, and hardware.
Perform maintenance, repairs, and renovations on wooden structures in residences, mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and various other settings.
Supervise and guide apprentices and other construction personnel.
May also prepare cost estimates for clients.
