Our Payroll Officers deliver timely and accurate full-cycle payroll services for 3sHealth and the Saskatchewan Healthcare System. The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
-Compiling and processing weekly payroll in accordance with legislative requirements, collective agreements, and company policies and procedures;
-Maintaining the integrity of employee data entered into the payroll system and processing staffing changes, such as new hires, terminations, employee status changes, and salary changes;
-Preparing, sorting, and filing a variety of reports, including remittances and monthly reports;
-Year-end processing, including T4 preparation;
-Preparing ad hoc and standard payroll reports, such as time-usage, accruals, and payroll audit reports; and
-Partnering with Human Resources and Finance teams to continuously improve processes and to support organizational initiatives.
Required Qualifications
-Payroll Compliance Practitioner certification from the CPA or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems such as Word, Outlook, and Excel
-Minimum of one year experience with payroll processing and data entry
-Experience maintaining a human resource information system (HRIS) an asset
-Previous experience processing medium scale payroll (for 650+ employees) belonging to various employee groups and unions is considered an asset
-Experience creating reports and strong proficiency with Excel is preferred
