Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Transport finished goods and raw materials to clients in a safe and timely matter
Follow all client property rules and regulations when on client property
Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues
Schedule maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed
Meet delivery schedules
Document and log kilometers driven and retain fuel receipts
Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
Collect and verify delivery instructions
Report defects, accidents or violations as soon as they occur to your safety dispatcher
Perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections
Ensure cargo is secured properly and is compliant with safety requirements
Acquire oversize permits on applicable deliveries through SGI
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Valid 1A truck driving license
**All candidates must provide a Driver's Abstract and certification of Transportation of Dangerous Goods upon application**
Proven work experience as a truck driver
Hands on experience with electronic equipment and software (GPS, Google Maps)
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
No recent driving violations
Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
Willing to submit to criminal record checks, drivers abstract, and provide employment recommendations.
