Description

Horizon School Division requires a Permanent Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Computer Technician to commence on a mutally agreed upon date. The location for this position will be based in the Watrous, Sk area.

Qualifications & Experience (may include but not limited to)
Identify and resolve routine hardware, software, and network issues.
Deploy and maintain IT allocations for schools in your service area. Horizon School Division currently supports over 3000 Chromebooks in addition to iPads, Tablets, and traditional Windows based PCs.
Provide ongoing routine installation, maintenance, and support of division systems.
Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of school-based servers and networking equipment.
Complete hardware repairs, including vendor approved warrantee repairs.
Create and deploy operating system images for the purpose of large-scale deployment of hardware and software packages using SCCM, and Intune
Ensure that equipment moves, replacements and changes are authorized and completed according to specification.
Assist in testing new software to ensure compatibility with existing systems before it is implemented into production.
Assist in educating users regarding PC and network usage.
Responsible to update operating systems and applications as necessary on all school-based hardware.
Ensure the integrity and security of school data, and the continuity of education including ongoing maintenance of the local backup infrastructure.
Familiarity with standard communications protocols and standards.
Computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office, including but not limited toExcel,Word, PowerPoint, Access, social media, and Google Workspace for Education.
Strong interpersonal and effective communication skills, verbal, written in personal and online, as well as ability to present information in small and large group settings.
