Purpose of the Position:
The Junior Property Accountant is responsible for all required day-to-day accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of properties. It is a comprehensive position and requires the individual to have a solid understanding of all aspects of accounting.

The Junior Property Accountant must be in contact with operational staff on a regular basis to ensure they are receiving the information required to manage the properties and the reporting calendar is met. This individual will provide accounting technical expertise to operational staff. An ability to understand the operational point of view is a must.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:
- Prepare financial reports for assigned properties.
- Perform required accounting functions, balancing of sub-ledgers to general ledger, entry of journal entries including analysis of balance sheet accounts, preparations of supporting working papers, etc.
- Prepare reporting as required: cash flow projections, reports required by auditors, clients and other analysis as required.
- Act as a resource for operational staff to: provide required accounting information and expertise to Property Managers and Property Administrators. Prepare monthly variance analysis reports, and assist in the preparation and review of annual budgets and tenant year end billings.

Required Skills:
- Graduate of a recognized business school.
- Microsoft applications experience (Excel) a must, Yardi experience an asset.
- Independent, self-starter, team player.
