Description

Job Summary: The Social Worker provides individual and group counselling services to various elementary schools. Our Social Workers counsel and work with individuals and groups, parents, school personnel and outside agencies, and support schools with their knowledge of prevention, intervention practices and programs.

The Social Worker will support elementary schools in VTRAs while working in conjunction with our dedicated team of professionals, school administrators, teachers, and support staff to create a positive, faith-filled learning environment.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in social work with a preference for MSW
- A minimum of three to five years experience working in a social worker role
- Participation in a Catholic Church community with a commitment to the ideals and principles of Catholic education
- Registered or eligible for registration in SASW (Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers)
- Understanding and experience implementing Indigenous counselling perspectives and practices
- Ability to make contributions to an integrated team of professionals as well as provide leadership in the area of student engagement and culturally responsive school practices
- A strong understanding of the VTRA process is an asset
- A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion
- A demonstrated commitment to learning about and for Indigenous students
- A good working knowledge of mental health issues, crisis management and interventions
- Previous work experience as a member of an inter-disciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible and respond to crisis situations
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Terms of Employment:
- As per Collective Agreement
- 3.63 hrs/day (0.50 FTE)
- Start date ASAP
- Salary range - corresponding hourly rate as per CUPE 2268 CBA
