Responsibilities include:
-Provide logistical and technical support for exploration/development programs:
o Assist with drill core related activities (measuring, labelling, radiometry, moving full core boxes)
o Down hole probing data acquisition
o Probing data QA/QC
o Probing data processing & interpretation
o Infrared Spectrometry measurements on drill core (TerraSpec)
o Physical property measurements on drill core (density, resistivity, magnetic susceptibility)
o QA/QC of infrared spectrometry and physical property results
o Computer data entry into the project database
o Provide presentation of results, as required
-Provide logistical and technical support for Saskatoon office/exploration warehouse projects:
o Maintain the efficiencies of the Exploration warehouse in the shipment, receiving, maintenance, and storage of exploration equipment/supplies
o Maintain inventory lists, maintenance checklists, and instrumentation log books
o Assist with calibration checks of radiometric probes and equipment
Skills and Qualifications:
-Geophysical/Geological technologist or technician diploma
-Experience working at exploration sites and/or logistically difficult areas is an asset
-Mechanical/electronic knowledge and skills are an asset
-Excellent computer skills; familiarity with Geosoft, WellCAD, AcQuire, and Microsoft Excel are an asset
-Valid Class 5 drivers license
-Experience operating snowmobiles/ATVs is an asset
Work Location & Schedule:
-Partially a field-based position in Northern Saskatchewan; isolated exploration camps or mine sites on a two to three week in and one week out field rotation during field programs
-Partially based at Saskatoon Corporate Office or Exploration warehouse
-Normally an 8 hour work day, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be required
-This position requires moderate physical ability with ability to work in difficult and isolated conditions
