Description

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Under the direction of the Director of Lands & Resources, the Regulatory Manager shall provide leadership, management and coordination of Kahkewistahaw First Nation activities in regulatory compliance and consultation relating to resource and industrial projects and activities affecting the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, its reserve lands and traditional territories. The Regulatory Manager shall also be responsible for assisting in the managing, coordinating and placing into reserve status of all lands acquired under the Kahkewistahaw 1907 Specific Claim Trust Agreement.
The Regulatory Manager shall be responsible for evaluating all resource, industrial and other related projects or activities which have or may have potential impacts on the Kahkewistahaw First Nation, its reserve lands and traditional territories. As part of their responsibilities, the Regulatory Manager shall develop, manage and oversee the coordination of all consultation processes, impact benefit agreements, traditional land use assessments, traditional knowledge assessments and any other related assessments, reports or activities having application to resource, industrial and other related development projects affecting the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.  
The Regulatory Manager shall also provide support and assistance to the Lands Manager in terms of the performance of their duties and responsibilities including assisting the Lands Manager with consultations and discussions involving industry and government representatives as they relate to projects and activities affecting the Kahkewistahaw First Nation.
